Where I live: My wife, Lee, and I live on Pinnacle Valley Road west of Little Rock. We have five children: Kelsey, 22, Haley, 18, Larkin, 18, Layne, 13, and Mattie, 11, and several dogs including Dakota, Brownie, Lola and Roxie.
Occupation: I own The Hatcher Agency. We are an insurance agency providing a full range of services.
My favorite space: It’s the Mighty Bluebird Field.
Why? I come out here every day at 4 o’clock to coach one of the sports teams. I like working with the kids and seeing them get better. We have soccer, baseball, wrestling, football and basketball teams. I bought this land and started the Bluebirds from scratch 17 years ago. It’s now a sports complex and we have hundreds of kids who come out here every day. My children are athletes and it’s kept them out of trouble so far. All of my business success comes from sports. You learn to pay attention to the fundamentals: leadership, hard work, discipline, loyalty, working with others, ability to perform under pressure and leading others to victory. You also learn all of the things you shouldn’t do. Just about everything you need to know, you can learn on a sports field.
If I could do one thing to improve this space, I would: Build an indoor soccer facility.
