At 4:35 p.m., Little Rock Police responded to Pleasant Pointe Apartments, at 1602 Green Mountain Drive, where Zeus Diviaio, 7, had been shot with a handgun once in the chest in his family’s apartment, Little Rock Police Sgt. Cassandra Davis said.

Davis said the child’s parents had been signing paperwork in the rental office when the shooting occurred.

Zeus was taken by MEMSto Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock where he was pronounced dead at 6:02 p.m., Davis said.

Detectives were still investigating the shooting Monday night, Davis said. The victim’s 9-year-old sister was present when the shooting happened.

About 20 minutes after Zeus was pronounced dead, police responded to 5919 W. 19th St. where they found Theodore Mitchell, 32, of Little Rock, stabbed in the neck in a parking lot.

Mitchell was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where he later died.

Witnesses told officers that Mitchell and his girlfriend, Alisha Pearson, 30, of Little Rock, had been arguing when she stabbed Mitchell once with a large knife, Davis said.

Little Rock Police Lt. Dana Jackson said Pearson fled the scene and was apprehended about a block away by an off duty UAMS Medical Center police officer at West 20th and South Buchanan streets.

Detectives arrested Pearson and were still questioning her late Monday, Jackson said.
