Arkansas advances in first round

— Arkansas overcame a 14-point first half deficit and beat Dayton 72-55 on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in College Station, Texas.

The Razorbacks (24-8) ended the game on a 20-2 run and won their first NCAA Tournament game since 2003, while making their first appearance in the tournament since the same season.

Quistelle Williams led four Arkansas players in double-figures with 15 points. Keira Peak and Lyndsay Harris each scored 14 points, while C'eira Ricketts added 13.

Andrea Hoover scored 16 points and Justine Raterman added 14 for Dayton (23-7).

Arkansas will face the winner of the first round game between Texas A&M and Albany in the second round of the tournament on Monday.
