CONWAY — Authorities say a Faulkner County man has died after he was shot once in the throat and stabbed in the shoulder.
Authorities tell the Log Cabin Democrat that Billy J. Ewing was able to tell police who attacked him before he died at a hospital. Ewing, who was known as B.J., told police that he confronted his wife’s ex-husband in Ewing’s home late Tuesday night.
Authorities say the men got into an altercation but that Ewing was able to make it across his yard to his mother’s home where she called emergency personnel. Authorities say the ex-husband was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
Ewing worked in the production department of the Log Cabin Democrat. Publisher Rick Fahr says Ewing was a valuable employee who was well-liked by his co-workers.
