Police: Man names attacker, later dies

CONWAY — Authorities said a Faulkner County man died after he was shot once in the throat and stabbed in the shoulder.

Authorities said Billy J. Ewing was able to tell police who attacked him before he died at a hospital. Ewing, who was known as B.J., told police that he confronted his wife’s ex-husband in Ewing’s home late Tuesday night.

Authorities said the men got into an altercation but that Ewing made it across his yard to his mother’s home, where she called emergency personnel.

Authorities said the ex-husband was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

Ewing worked in the production department of the Log Cabin Democrat. Publisher Rick Fahr said Ewing was a valuable employee who was well-liked by his co-workers.
