Where I live: I live in North Little Rock’s Lakewood subdivision with my wife, Lyne, and our chocolate Labrador retriever, Murphy.

Occupation: I have been a restaurateur for 40 years and I own Loca Luna and Red Door restaurants. I call our cuisine nouveau schizophrenic. We’re non-theme restaurants offering moderately priced food that we think would be fun to eat.

My favorite space: Our deck.

Why? For some reason, life makes more sense here than most anywhere else. The restaurant business can wear you out and this corner of the world overlooks two lakes, a waterfall and our pool. I plant myself here after work with a Knob Creek on the rocks or a glass of red wine and play and write music on my 1954 Gibson J-50. It’s so simple here: a glass of wine, my guitar, a beautiful sunset, my wife and my dog. It’s the way life should be. There is immediate decompression out here.

If I could do one thing to improve this space, I would: Rather not have the hackberry tree above me because when it berries out, it’s berries and bird mess everywhere.
