Interior designer Phoebe Howard, whose “Mrs. Howard” advice column appears in Southern Living, will sign copies of her new book, The Joy of Decorating: Southern Style With Mrs. Howard, in collaboration with Susan Sully, 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at Cobblestone & Vine, Pleasant Ridge Town Center, 11525 Cantrell Road, Little Rock.
The store is co-hosting the event with Tobi Fairley Interior Design and At Home in Arkansas.

Poetry news
Bentonville High School senior Kelsey Cain took the $3,000 first prize in the Thea Foundation’s inaugural Poetry Slam Scholarship Competition for high school seniors, March 17 at the Thea Center in North Little Rock. Second place and $2,000 went to Fayetteville High School’s Ashley Cunningham. Samantha Comer of Fort Smith Southside High School, Sandrekkia Morning of eStem Charter High School and Kristen Smith of Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School took honorable mentions.
Ginna “Funk” Wallace, who was on teams that represented Hot Springs at the 1999 and 2000 National Poetry Slams and a former executive chef at Hamilton House and Central Park Fusion, will be the featured performer at this week’s Wednesday Night Poetry Readings, 8 p.m. Wednesday at Central Loft Cafe (formerly the Poet’s Loft), 514B Central Ave. in Hot Springs.
