Mrs. BILLIE MAE (MURPHY) BERRY, 90, Little Rock died March25, 2012. She was born September 19, 1921 in Arcadia, Louisiana and raised in Fordyce, Ark. She was retired from Dillard’s Department Stores in Little Rock and a member of Trinity Assembly ofGod Church in Little Rock.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Banks and Sallie Murphy, husband of 63 years, Elmer Jewel Berry, son, Gerald Berry, two half-brothers, three infant grandsons, and one great-granddaughter, Presley Marie Haywood. Survivors, granddaughter, Sherry Haywood and husband Scott, Benton; great-granddaughter, Jordan Haywood, Benton; daughter-inlaw, Shirley Ann Berry, Benton; and many friends.

FRANCES JANE (‘Miss Jane’) KRUTZ, 86 years old, died Sunday, March 25th, 2012. Born an Arkansas country girl, she became known as: ‘The Queen Mother of Arkansas,’ a title bestowed in honor of her long-time dedication to statewide charitiesand service organizations through her volunteer talents and toil. Always recognized for her regal bearing, welcoming demeanor and marinated-in-honey Southern accent, Miss Jane was a loving and beloved Christian. Coast to coast, when she gave speeches, her closing line was a sincerely meant message: “...Don’t let one of you miss a home in Heaven.”

Visitation will be hosted at Ruebel Funeral Home, (on West Markham in Little Rock) Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral Services will be conducted at Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene, (on Mississippi in Little Rock) Saturday at 3 p.m. Burial will be at the Vilonia Cemetery in Vilonia, Arkansas.

JOHNNIE MARGARET ALLISON MOUM, died March 27th, 2012.She was born in June, 1920 in Hattieville, Ark., the daughter of John W. and Eliza (Menees) Allison. Johnnie graduated from Morrilton High School and was a sales agent in Transportationfor American Airlines. She married the love of her life, Howard A. Moum, and they spent many happy years together traveling the world. Johnnie and Howard gave their support to many organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, the University of North Dakota, UAMS School of Nursing and UAMS Jones Eye Institute. The latest gift Johnnie gave was a bird aviary to Presbyterian Village for patients and visitors to enjoy for years to come.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Moum, her brothers James (Bill) Allison and JW (Jack) Allison from Morrilton, Ark. and sisters, Lois Allison, Lela Owen and Glenna Cowan of Morrilton, Ark. She is survived by three nieces: Ann Allison Harris, honoree niece, Jane (Cowan) Beasley of Little Rock, Ark. and Susie Stevens of Bend, Oregon; three surviving nephews: John H. Allison of Little Rock, Ark., Leonard Allison Cowan of Santa Cruz, Calif and Jack Allison of Morrilton, Ark. and her sister-in-law, Ruth Allison.Dear friends also helped care for Johnnie including Nancy and John Russ, Beth Eubanks, and Della Mae Gulmon.

The family would also like to thank the many caregivers at Presbyterian Village who gave Johnnie excellent care and treated her with love and respect. EDWARD RAY PETERSON, 78, of Little Rock, passed away March 27, 2012. He is survived by his brother, Thomas G. RICK REDDEN, architect, died on March 27th, at Baptist HealthMedical Center in Little Rock following a yearlong battle with cancer. He was 63.

Rick was born in 1948 in Fort Smith. He attended the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville,was a Sigma Nu, and graduated from the School of Architecture in 1971. After University, he lived and worked in Zurich and London for three years. After returning home to Arkansas, Rick was an intern, was licensed and then practiced architecture at The Cromwell Firm until 1982.

Rick, Jimmy Moses and John Allison formed “Allison Moses Redden, Architecture, Interiors and Planning” in July, 1982. “Allison Moses Redden” evolved into “AMR Architects, Inc.,” and when Jimmy Moses and John Allison each began new firms, Rick remained as the founding member. AMR’s early architectural work includes Heritage East, Heritage West, Little Rock’s Fletcher Library, Little Rock River Market, War Memorial Fitness Center, and The Museum of Discovery. Later work includes Arkansas Capital Commerce Center, 300 3rd Tower and River Market Tower with developer, Moses Tucker. Rick loved his frequent trips to Russellville and Ozark for visits with David Moseley, Dr.Robert Brown and the University staff to work on campus design for Arkansas Tech University.

Rick loved playing and listening to music of all genres. He was a drum major in his Fort Smith Junior High band, played alto sax in a high school dance band, played the banjo, piano and guitar. Rick loved wine and loved to sketch.He lived in, worked in, designed for, and passionately loved downtown Little Rock.

Rick was predeceased by his mother, Rue Williams and his brother, Ronnie. He is survived by his wife, Soon Young and by his daughter from his first marriage, Kate East (Chris) of Little Rock. He is also survived by adopted children, Matthew and Hannah of Seattle Washington and by his father, Wayne, and his brother, Roger, both of Van Buren, Arkansas.

Rick’s family would like to thank his dedicated doctors Dean Kumpuris, Johnny Jones and Joe Beck and they know that Rick would send a special wink to his constant friends and caregivers Lee, Eleanor, Jimmy, Mary Lou, Bob, and the other members of the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Wesley Class who tirelessly supported him on this journey.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be Monday, April 2, 5:30 p.m. at The Museum of Discovery in Little Rock. BETH ANN RUTLEDGE, 46, of Little Rock, born September 13, 1965 in Leslie, Ark. to Andrew and Eva Jackson, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lytle. Beth is survived by her father, Andrew Jackson; mother, Eva Rios; ex-husbands, Joe Lytle and Jim Rutledge. CHARLES SCHUH TENNEY, 73, of Little Rock, passed away March 27, 2012. Born in Little Rock toMartin D. and Josephine Schuh Tenney, he was a U.S. Army veteran and owner of Tenney and Associates. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Greater LittleRock Optimist Club. He enjoyed his volunteer work, especially as a Downtown Navigator. His favorite times were spent traveling, spending time with family and rooting for the Minnesota Vikings.

Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Simmons, he is survived by his wife, Elaine Halvorsen Tenney; son, Charles “Chuck” Tenney and wife, Bridget; daughter, Michele Crouch and husband, Rob; brother, Martin Tenney and wife, Myra; sisters, Melba Swoyer and husband, Ken and Robbie Brannon; and three grandchildren, Jozie, Lainie and Maggie Crouch.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Francis I.Malone on Friday, March 30 at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, followed by interment with Military Honors at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. GLORIA FINCH CUNNINGHAM THOMAS, age 66, Little Rockpassed away on Tuesday, March 27th, 2012, after a year-long battle with Peritoneal Cancer. She slipped away peacefully with her family at her side. She was born in Bradford, UK, February 9th,1946, the daughter of J.B. and Dorothy Finch.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Son Mi Cunningham of Lawton, Oklahoma; her brother Fredrick Lee Finch and his wife Linda of Kansas City, Kansas, her nephew Brady Finch and her niece Christi and their children. She is also survived by her loving “second family,” Glenn and Diane Cunningham, DeAnn Shields-Marley, Sue McDonald, Ruth Craw, Catherine English, Kaye Lundgren, Beverly Maddox, Betty Danley, Jan Conine, Maybline Garner, Laurie Smith Prud’homme, Susan Elsworth, Sarah and Ruth Ward; and so many other good friends.

Gloria was a founding member of the D and D Book Club some 15 years ago. Throughout her illness she was sustained by the love and good humor members of the D and D brought to her every day of her valiant fight. The family is deeply appreciative of the loving support during her time of need.

Gloria recently retired from the University of Arkansas Little Rock as the Controller of The School of Business. She often commented that the day she retired was the second happiest day of her life.

A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Reservoir Road at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society.

AUSTIN - Loretta “Sue” Morris Staires, age 74, of Austin passed away, Tuesday, March 27, 2012. She was born October 27, 1937 in Rector, Ark., to the late William Grant Morris and Etta Lee McConnell Morris. She was a graduate of Greene County Technical where she played basketball, softball, and took business courses. She enjoyed bowling and was the 3rd Vice-President of Ventura County Bowling Association, and playedwoman’s fast pitch softball in Ventura, Calif. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, and embroidery. She was preceded in death by two brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years James Leland Staires of Austin, daughters, Suzette L. Pedler of Ventura, Calif., Shirlee J. Smith of Cabot, Ark.; grandchildren, Mrs. Jennifer D. and Patrick O’Neil of Virginia, Ms. Cynthia Brunick of Grover Beach, Calif., Lisa M. and Jonathan Abbey of Santa Paula, Calif., Stefanie A. BENTON - Barry Lynn Partain, 53, of Benton passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012. He was born on October 4, 1958 to the late Clarence and Allie Virginia (Kelso) Partain Shepherd in Sledge, Miss. Barry was a builder by trade and was gifted with a musical talent that included singing and playing the guitar and piano. He loved the outdoors, fishing, boating and a good bonfire. He treasured his family and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dorothy Gustavus and his granddaughter, Leeann Paulman. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Patricia; his daughters Laura (Robert) Miller, Ashley (Casey) Rush and Lindsey (fiance’ Jeremy Price) Partain; his siblings Larry Taylor, Kelly (Nancy) Taylor, Jane (Jerry) Madden, Andy (Debbie) Partain, Ronnie (Barbara) Partain, Delane (Anne) Partain, Rodney (Nancy) Christian and Jimmy Christian; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Kyle, Ty, Nicholas, Bailey, Xander and Conner and a host of extended family and friends.

CARLISLE - Mildred Marcile Matlock, of Carlisle went hometo be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. “Ceil” as she was affectionately known by her family, was born in 1933 in Hickory Plains, Ark. She was married to her loving husbandand minister, Roy Matlock, for 61 years.

She is survived by her husband; four children, Debra Young ( Randy) of Little Rock, Charlotte Hall (Mike) of Bryant, Gary Matlock (Donna) of Mount Vernon, and Tommy Matlock (Janis) of Beebe. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; Henry “Hammie” Harrison; mother Mary (Kerr) Harrison, and brother Buford Harrison.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke. CONWAY - Dennis Lynn Barnes, born March 19, 1948, in Long Beach, California, went home to Jesus, March 27, 2012. Proudly of Irish descent, Dennis had a successful career in the railroad industry, becoming their youngest officer at 21, and then moving on to become VP of a shipping firm before retiring in 2005. He also owned a successful restaurant in Mountain Home, Arkansas, until September 2009. A proud Republican, Dennis also belonged to various civil and political organizations.

Always a kind and loving man, Dennis will be sorely missed by family and friends. He is survived by Judith Fordyce, long time companion, fiance’e and friend; a son, Michael Barnes (Tracy) of Salem, Oregon; a stepson, John Stanley of Hot Springs; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Stanley and Erin Parker, both of Conway; one stepniece,Brenda Stafford of Hamburg; two step-granddaughters, Isabella Stanley and Sophia Dean, also of Conway; and Bridgie, his beloved 13 year old Boston Terrier.

Welcomed into Heaven by parents, Elmer and Violet Barnes, and stepson, Jacob Stanley, Dennis is finally at peace and in no pain.

A memorial service and life celebration to honor Dennis will be held in his home at 3183 Stacy Drive, Conway, Arkansas 72034, beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012. DeWITT - Anna Mae Parker Tolbert, 89, of DeWitt died Monday, March 26, 2012. She was born September 20, 1922, in Van to Eston Theodore and Willie Emma Eason Parker. She along with her husband were retired caretakers of the DeWitt Fire Station and was also a seamstress, sewing for many people in DeWitt. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a very active member and long time President of the Auxiliary.

Survivors inclulde her sons: Richard Tolbert (Beverly) of Pope, Miss., Carl Wayne “Doc” Tolbert of DeWitt; sisters: Bernice Clemons of Pocahontas, Faye Criswell (Luke), Linda Johnson (Johnny), all of DeWitt; brothers: Bill Parker (Meryle) of DeWitt, James Parker (LaFern) of Broken Arrow, Okla., Steve Parker (Beverly) of Little Rock; sisters-in-law: LaValle Moore of Cabot, Betty Parker Brown of Benton; brothers-in-law: Homer Tolbert (Lois) of Benton, Joe Tolbert (Valeda) of Star City; grandchildren: Marty Tolbert (Lisa), Melissa Welch, all of Batesville, Brandon Tolbert of DeWitt; great grandchildren: Elizabeth and Carley Tolbert, Meredith and Hannah Welch, along with a host of nieces and nephews. LAKE VILLAGE - Charles “Randy” Moore, age 70, of Lake Village, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village. He was born June 5, 1941, in St.Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Charles William Moore and Mary Elizabeth Pasour Moore and was a farmer, a U.S. Army Veteran and a Christian.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lynn Williamson. Survivors are his wife, Janie Moore of Lake Village; three sons, Darren Moore of Owasso, Oklahoma, Bryan Edward Moore of Lake Village and James Allen Moore of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a daughter, Andrea Gail Huskey of Monticello; two brothers, David Moore of Elaine, Arkansas, and Bill Moore of Strawberry, Arkansas; and seven grandchildren.

WHITE HALL - Ruth Parker, 91, of White Hall, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Parker was born April 26, 1920, in Tillman, Louisiana, to the late Alfred L. and Ada Goleman O’Neal. She was reared and received her early education in Tillman, graduating from Fairview High School in 1937.

Ruth O’Neal married Frank E. Parker on December 22, 1938, in Leesville, Louisiana. They moved to Pine Bluff in 1958. Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and a member of White Hall United Pentecostal Church, where she had served as church secretary for many years.

She is survived by four sons, George E. Parker of Star City, Bobby D. Parker, Danny L. Parker, and Patrick E. Parker, all of Pine Bluff; four daughters, Frances Pierce, Peggy Hale, Barbara Anderson, and Connie Drake, all of White Hall; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hardy L. O’Neal of Sulphur, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank E. Parker, who passed away in 2003, a son, Gary D. Parker, a great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Pierce, three brothers, Ford O’Neal, O.R. O’Neal, and Alton O’Neal, and two sisters, Melba Jackson and Eretta Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Billye Farrell; daughters, Sharon Hall and husband Richard and Dianne Goodsell and husband Kenny; son, Robert John Farrell IV and wife DeeGee; brothers, Charles Farrell and wife Betty and James Farrell; sisters, Kathleen McDowell and husband Eddie and Mary Lee and husband Mike; grandchildren, David Hall, Melissa Page, Joshua Farrell, Paige Rollins, Jon Goodsell and Joshua Goodsell; 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leo Farrell.
