2 die in wrecks on state’s roads

— Two men were killed in car accidents on Arkansas roadways Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, according to preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality reports.

Kenneth Brown, 24, of Vilonia died Sunday after driving his 1999 Acura southbound on U.S. 65 just north of Clinton around 1:47 p.m., the report says.

Brown’s vehicle entered the northbound lane in an attempt to pass another vehicle.

His vehicle collided headon with a 2006 Honda sedan driven by Kelly Crowe, 22, of Springfield, Mo., according to the report.

Brown’s vehicle came to a stop on the highway’s northbound shoulder, the report says. Van Buren County Coroner Joe Tsosie pronounced him dead on the scene.

Brown’s passenger, Cory Muldoon, 23, of Conway was transported to UAMS. Muldoon was in fair condition Monday afternoon, hospital spokesman Jerry Jackson said.

Jackson said the hospital does not have treatment records for Crowe.

At 12:16 a.m. Monday, James Sisk, 56, of Belleville, died after he drove his 2002 Ford Explorer off Arkansas 27 northbound near Chickalah and struck a tree, according to the report.

Yell County Coroner Jim Hodges pronounced Sisk dead at the scene, the report says.
