— Whitney Ann West became the bride of Kirk Herman Horton at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Park on the River in Maumelle. Phil Stowers officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Monieca and Phillip West, 1409 Cumberland St. Her grandparents are Betty and the late Sterling West of Pine Bluff and Vernal and the late Betty Mills of Agnos.

Parents of the groom are Darla and Ralph Horton of Sherwood. He is the grandson of Dorothy and the late Ralph Horton of Streator, Ill., the late Donald Ator and the late Atha Manasco.

Vows were exchanged under an iron arch decorated with tulips, calla lilies, delphinium and hydrangeas.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory fitted A-line gown with a strapless neckline. A beaded band embellished the Empire waist, and the skirt and chapel train had a scalloped lace hem. She carried a bouquet of green hydrangeas, purple tulips, lavender calla lilies and fresh lavender.

Lindsey Hodge of North Little Rock was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Luz of Sherwood; Natalie Falgout of Houma, La.; Meredith McMillan of Little Rock; Mallory Rogers of North Little Rock; and Ashley Gordon of Virginia Beach, Va. They wore strapless knee-length dresses of aubergine chiffon with asymmetrically pleated bodices and carried cream calla lilies.

Daisy Horton, sister of the groom,was flower girl.

Chad Horton of Sherwood, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Kirk Freeney of Lonoke; Brandon Summers of Jacksonville; Dustin Hodge of Sherwood; Michael Horton of Maumelle; and Kevin Schettler of North Little Rock. Guests were seated by J.T. Long of Sherwood; Keith Tarter of North Little Rock; and Stan Cotton of Maumelle.

A reception at Park on the River followed the ceremony. The buffet table held a cylinder vase with submerged calla lilies topped with a cascading arrangement of tulips, lilies and hydrangeas. Guest tables held glass chargers topped with candles and arrangements of purple tulips and white calla lilies in Waterford crystal vases.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. She is a business consultant for the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at UALR.

The groom is also a UALR graduate. He has a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and will begin studying for a master’s in administration and education this fall. He is a teacher and coach at Maumelle Middle School.

The couple will live in Sherwood after a honeymoon in Costa Rica.
