Matt Daniel resigned as women's basketball coach at the University of Central Arkansas on Tuesday before accepting the same position at Marshall University.
Daniel, a 35-year-old native of Jonesboro, coached UCA to the 2012 Southland Conference championship and recorded three straight 20-win seasons at the helm of the Sugar Bears. He finished his four-year career in Conway with a 72-50 record.
In a release, UCA athletics director Brad Teague said the university will move quickly to replace Daniel.
"We will hire someone with the same principles and ideals which our staff and coaches employ," Teague said. "We have a great team of coaches and this new hire will be in the same mold."
