LITTLE ROCK Officials with Pulaski Technical College broke ground on their new culinary arts building at a Thursday morning service at the school's south Little Rock campus off Interstate 30.
Members of the school's board of trustees, officials with the culinary school and several state and local officials, including Mayor Mark Stodola, were on hand for the ground-breaking ceremony.
The event marks the end of a somewhat tumultuous situation in which there was heated debate as to where the building would go. Some officials with the school had proposed that the new center for the culinary arts be built downtown to accommodate and blend in with the area's growing restaurant industry.
Construction on the building will begin in the next few weeks and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2013.
