— A judge has ordered two murder suspects charged with fatally shooting a man in front of his children be held without bail.

Joe Bell III, 22, and Johnathan Hattison, 23, made initial video appearances before Little Rock District Judge Alice Lightle on Friday, during which innocent pleas were entered and bail was not set, court staff said.

Bell and Hattison were arrested Thursday in North Little Rock in the Saturday shooting death of Victor Rosas at 11 Terrace Drive. They each face a charge of capital murder.

The shooting happened shortly before 8:45 p.m. after a gunman came up to Rosas outside the apartment building and demanded his wallet. Rosas handed it over, but the gunman then shot him in the chest. Rosas' two children were among the witnesses.

Authorities have not released information about how they developed either man as a suspect or which one was the gunman. The motive was robbery, Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said.
