Forest Park school celebrates 100 years

— Forest Park Elementary celebrated its 100th birthday Oct. 26 with a reunion at the school and an outdoor party.

The Heights-area school opened its doors at 5 p.m. to alumni who toured the building. Classrooms contained memorabilia from the ’40s, ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. In the cafeteria, former students gathered to have snacks and watch a video.

Later that evening, the party moved to the River Market where Memphis Soul Review provided the entertainment. Money raised from the event will be used for school improvements.
