Little Rock Police Department Chief Stuart Thomas is suspending a lieutenant without pay for a 2011 incident in which the officer beat a man outside of a Hillcrest-neighborhood restaurant.
Lt. David Hudson was given notice of the 30-day suspension on Thursday following a year-long internal investigation. The department released Hudson's suspension letter on Friday.
A video posted on YouTube shows Hudson punching Chris Erwin, then 40, of Little Rock multiple times after a verbal altercation Oct. 29, 2011, outside of Ferneau at 2601 Kavanaugh Blvd.
Hudson's suspension will begin Monday.
