Bryant teenager killed by train

A teenager was hit and killed by a Union Pacific train Monday afternoon, the Bryant Police Department said Tuesday.
Officers responded to a call at 2:43 p.m. Monday from the Union Pacific Railroad that a train had hit a pedestrian.
The train was headed east on the north tracks, police said, when it hit a 17-year-old Hispanic male.
Police and rescue crews began searching the railroad tracks in the area between Reynolds Road and South Cherry Street in Bryant, and the teen was found about 1/2 mile west of Reynolds Road, police said.
As the train approached, the engineer reported the teen, who was crouched in the bushes next to the track, stepped onto the tracks facing the train, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Saline County coroner. His name is not being released at this time because he's a minor, police said.

Suicide by train??!!! That's a tough way to go, I would think.
