UCA achieves victory over Eastern Illinois

CONWAY — Junior quarterback Wynrick Smothers completed 35 of 49 passes for 335 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead Central Arkansas to a 48-30 victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday night at Estes Stadium.
Senior running back Jackie Hinton ran 20 times for 87 yards and a touchdown and caught 7 passes for 53 yards and another score for the Bears.
The Southland Conference co-champion Bears (9-2) will find out Sunday who they will play in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. The FCS playoff field will be announced at 12:30 p.m. Sunday on ESPNU.
Eastern Illinois wide receiver Erik Lora set the FCS single-season record for receptions Saturday. He caught 9 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown and has 124 receptions this season. The junior broke Elons Terrell Hudgins' mark of 123, which was set in 2009.
Wide receiver Chris Wright caught 3 passes for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns for Eastern Illinois (7-4), which won the Ohio Valley Conference championship last week.
