— Hien Ngoc Tran became the bride of Boonthavone Nouanesengsy at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Terry House. Race Shelby officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Yen Ngoc and Hung Van Tran, 11 Rosier Court. Her grandparents are the late Hong Thi Cao, the late Nhung Ngoc Bui, the late Nhieu Thi Le and the late Hoa Van Tran, all of Saigon.

Boudsyda and Nouane Nouanesengsy of Fort Smith are the parents of the groom. His grandparents are Mala and Louis Nouanesengsy and the late Bouddy and Bounthane Luangnam, all of Laos.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless white organza gown with a pleated sweetheart bodice. A band at the waist was embellished with a beaded rhinestone flower. Her ruffled skirt extended to a chapel-length train. She carried a hand-tied mix of pink roses and dusty miller.

Sierra Moore of Hot Springs was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Jacobi, Candace Caldwell and Sarah Oliver, all of Little Rock, and Danielle Shelby of North Little Rock. They wore pink and gray chiffon gowns with sweetheart necklines and carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquet.

Best man was Boonthanome Nouanesengsy of Los Alamos, N.M., brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Bao Chung of Jonesboro; Phillip Nguyen of Fayetteville; and Nhan Nguyen and Tony Nguyen, both of Rogers.

Guests were seated by Phong Pham of Fort Smith and Aaron Jacobi of Little Rock.

A reception at Sherwood Forest in Sherwood followed the ceremony. Guest tables were centered with arrangements of branches decorated with origami flowers. For the reception, the bride changed into a traditional red Vietnamese dress called an ao dai which was embroidered with a gold phoenix.

The bride graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from University of Central Arkansas in Conway where she was on the dean’s list. She is a pharmacy technician.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville’s honor college. He received a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he was a member of Ro Chi academic honor society.

The couple will live in Little Rock after a honeymoon in Las Vegas.
