Nature Conservancy awards honor allies in Natural State

— The Nature Conservancy Partners in Conservation Lunch was held Nov. 7 at the Little Rock Country Club.

Mark Boling, president of V+ Development Solutions, a division of Southwestern Energy, was guest speaker.

During the luncheon the 2012 Conservation PartnerAwards were given to Don Richardson, flood plain manager for the City of Clinton; Debbie Doss with the Arkansas Canoe Club; Peyton Rose and Bill Kopsky with the Arkansas Public Policy Panel; Patty Barker; and Southwestern Energy. Ellen Fennell, director of Audubon Arkansas,received the Forever Arkansas Award.

The mission of the Nature Conservancy is to conserve the lands and waters on which life depends. In Arkansas, this has included restoring the lower Cache River as well as work on restoring other rivers and streams.

Dhu Thompson is chairman of the Nature Conservancy of Arkansas Board of Trustees and Scott Simon is director of the Nature Conservancy of Arkansas.
