Even if you are a keen observer of the Arkansas theater scene, you may have missed something extraordinary in the three-week span between Oct. 25 and Nov. 11, Eric E. Harrison writes in Tuesday’s Style section.
Two Arkansas theater organizations at pretty much opposite directions in the state, which have their headquarters in historic theaters and which had never before put on professional productions, took a giant and unprecedented step: They signed guest-artist contracts with the theater union, Actors’ Equity, hired professional actors and put on special presentations that could spearhead future professional theaters in both towns.
