— A Beebe native competing on the popular singing competition The Voice has advanced again and is now among the final eight contestants vying for the grand prize recording contract.

In a live show Monday night, Cody Belew sang his own version of Beyonce's "Crazy in Love." He wore a one-sleeved leather jacket with chains, moved alongside a team of back-up dancers and earned high marks from all four celebrity judges.

Then in another show Tuesday night, the program revealed which contestants had earned enough phone, online and iTunes votes to advance. The number of votes wasn't revealed, but Belew was among the top eight vote-getters, ensuring him at least one more week in the competition. Two singers were eliminated.

"YOU GUUUUUUUUYYYYSSSS!!!!! HOLY HELL!!! YOU DID IT! YOU DID IT!! YOU DID IT!!!!! OMG SO THANKFUL FOR YOU!! Wow. Wow. Wow."

Belew is to perform again on the next episode of the show Monday.
