— NEXT WEEK Snowy: The stage at The Arkansas Repertory Theatre at 601 Main St.

will be transformed into a cozy Vermont inn and Irving Berlin songs will fill the air as The Rep presents White Christmas. Based on the classic 1954 film of the same name, this musical runs Nov. 30-Dec. 30 with showtimes

at 7 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $30-$60.

There will be two preview performances at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Nov.

NEXT MONTH Fiery: On Dec. 7, 1862, Confederate and Federal

forces met for a bloody showdown in Northwest Arkansas. Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park will

honor the 150th anniversary of that battle a few days early with two days of encampments, drills, demonstrations and battle re-enactments, Dec. 1-2.

The soldiers’ camps will be open to the public 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 1 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 2. The re-enactment starts at 1 p.m. each day. Activities

are free but there is a $5 parking fee. Call (479) 846-2990.
