CEO of girl-empowerment nonprofit to speak in LR

— Molly Barker, founder and chief executive of Girls on the Run, will speak Wednesday at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.

To help young girls recognize their potential, Barker created a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering them through conversation based lessons and running games.

In 1996, Barker tested the earliest version of a lesson based curriculum with 13 girls in Charlotte, N.C. Today, the organization serves girls in more than 200 cities across the United States and Canada.

Seats for the 6-7 p.m. lecture in Sturgis Hall in Little Rock can be reserved by emailing publicprograms@clintonschool.uasys.edu or by calling (501) 683-5239.
