Children’s Hospital gets fashionable help at show

— Sleek. Classy. Timeless. That best describes Linda Rowe Thomas’ Romas collection, revealed during Designing Hope. The Nov. 15 fashion showcase was held in the Genesis III Room at Next Level Events in Little Rock as a benefit for Camp Sunshine and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

VIP guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres and libations during a reception in the Genesis II Room, then bid on silent auction items next door. They and other guests were treated to a slide show and then a film, of children and adults enjoying themselves at Camp Sunshine.

Then came the main event, whose masters of ceremony were Dawn Neufeld of VH1’s Football Wives fame, and Alyce Eady, anchor for THV This Morning on KTHV-TV, Channel 11. After a parade of fashions by west Little Rock boutique Scarlet, a host of local firefighters hammed it up for the ladies while modeling clothing from Dillard’s.

Then came Thomas’ collection, highlighted by regal black evening gowns, black and silver cocktail dresses, pantsuits and jumpsuits in a variety of textures, and a stunning white evening gown and cocktail dress, both featuring black floral-print detailing.

Camp Sunshine is a camp for children who have survived burn injuries. Its goal is to promote physical and emotional healing as well as growth and development.
