— Little Rock designer Korto Momolu offered a “sneak preview” at her spring 2013 line during a Nov. 9 Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute fundraiser in the rooftop party room in the River Market Towers building. The event benefited CARTI.

“Big Design in Little Rock” allowed attendees an up close look at about 20 creations while mixing and mingling with Momolu - Project Runway’s Season 5 runner-up and fan favorite - and enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Shown in September at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Momolu’s first ready-to-wear collection is a study in simple chic: ladylike, figure-defining neutrals with pops of interesting detail.

Peplums show up, along with creative color-blocking details including contrasting cap sleeves. Standouts include a shimmery black, peplumed jacket; a halter-style evening gown done in a vivid geometric print and featuring a scoop neckline and gently gathered A-line skirt; and a yellow-gold surplice frock with draped asymmetrical detailing. The line may be viewed at kortomomolu.com.

NEW LINE AT FEINSTEIN’S

Kevyn Aucoin, the cosmetics line, is coming to Feinstein’s, 5600 Kavanaugh Blvd.

To celebrate the event, the store will host a counter grand opening, complete with a make-up artist from New York, during regular store hours Dec. 7-8.

The line is named for the popular celebrity makeup artist whose work showed up on magazine covers, billboards and runways ... as well as the faces of such women as Madonna, Tina Turner, Kate Moss, Cher, Gwyneth Paltrow, Janet Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor. Before his death at age 40 in 2002, Aucoin also authored three self-help books on beauty - The Art of Makeup, Making Faces and Face Forward - and created his makeup line, which now includes foundations/concealers, pressed and loose powders, blushes, mascaras, brow pencils, lipsticks, lip glosses and beauty aids ... most of which are in the $20-$65 range.

For more information about the grand opening, call (501) 664-7330.
