Christopher Steven Reynolds, 34, was arrested at his business, Reynolds Global Dynamics Group Inc. at 435 Bird Dog Road in Ward. Along with the murder charge, he was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, the Arkansas State Police said in a news release Saturday.

Ernest Hoskins Jr., 21, was shot and killed at Reynolds’ home in Ward on Nov. 9, the state police said.

Reynolds pointed a loaded pistol at Hoskins and was trying to “de-cock the pistol when it discharged a round,” the arrest report states. The round struck Hoskins and he died at the scene, the report states.

Hoskins worked as a regional sales manager for Reynolds’ company and went to Reynolds’ home in Ward for a business meeting, according to a news release Friday from the Hoskins family’s attorney.

Lonoke County Prosecuting Attorney Chuck Graham called the state police to help investigate Hoskins’ death, and the investigation is ongoing, state police spokesman Bill Sadler said.

Reynolds was being held Saturday night at the Lonoke County jail without bail.
