HACKETT 55, UNION CHRISTIAN 0

FORT SMITH - Jestin Morse ran for two touchdowns and returned an interception for another score as Hackett (6-0, 5-0 4-2A) defeated Union Christian (0-6, 0-4).

Morse scored on runs of 6 and 40 yards and returned his interception 58 yards for a score.

William Thomas added a 3-yard touchdown run and a 75-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Sweeten.

Running back Trevor Thompson scored on a 42-yard run, Colton Byers had a 25-yard touchdown run, and C.J. Clem returned an interception 98 yards for another touchdown.

JOHNSON CO. WESTSIDE 58, HARTFORD 0

COAL HILL - Eight different players scored as Johnson County Westside (3-3, 3-2 4-2A) shut out Hartford (0-6, 0-5).

MOUNTAINBURG 41, HECTOR 19

MOUNTAINBURG - Frank James ran for three touchdowns and Matthew Dewater ran for two more as Mountainburg (5-1, 5-0 4-2A) defeated Hector (2-4, 2-3).

James finished with 9 carries for 140 yards, including touchdown runs of 46, 20 and 9 yards.

Dewater had 12 carries for 104 yards and scored on a pair of 1-yard runs.

Josh Skattabo scored on a 10-yard run for Mountainburg.

MAGAZINE 39, WESTERN YELL COUNTY 6

HAVANA - Billy Yang and Jonathon Travis each ran for two touchdowns as Magazine (3-3, 3-1 4-2A) downed Western Yell County.

Charlie Moua also had a 27-yard touchdown run, and Trent Cobb threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Chris Thygesen.

CONWAY CHRISTIAN 48, MOUNT IDA 15

CONWAY - Tanner Stevenson completed three passes for touchdowns and rushed for two more scores as Conway Christian rolled over Mount Ida in a 5-2A game.

Stevenson, who was 11 for 20 for 281 yards, had touchdown passes of 36 yards and 23 yards in the second quarter and 73 yards in the third, all to Andrew Dather, who finished with nine receptions for 259 yards.

Stevenson scored on a 1-yard run and25-yard run, both in the second quarter. He finished with 64 yards rushing.

The Eagles scored first in the first quarter on a 1-yard run by Ancil Lea and 27-yard run by Dather.

Kevin Weston’s 51-yard run closed the gap 14-7 for the Lions before Conway Christian scored 26 unanswered points in the second quarter. Landon Woodfield’s 9-yard touchdown run for Mount Ida in the fourth quarter.

BIGELOW 43, MOUNTAIN PINE 0

BIGELOW - Terrell Dunlap and Austen Turner each scored two rushing touchdowns to lead Bigelow (5-0, 3-0 5-2A) to past Mountain Pine (0-6, 0-3).

Dunlap scored on runs of 2 and 67 yards, while Turner scored on runs of 90 and 9 yards.

Tim Gunn added a 20-yard touchdown run and Jessie May scored on a 25-yard run.

CUTTER MORNING STAR 13, POYEN 12

HOT SPRINGS - Brice Wren’s 36-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Cutter Morning Star a come from-behind victory over Poyen.

The Eagles (4-2, 2-1 in 5-2A) were down 12-0 in the first half, thanks to the Indians’ Asa Riggins. He rushed for one touchdown and passed to Johnny Reed for another, but it wasn’t enough for Poyen (0-3, 0-5 in 5-2A).

Cutter Morning Star began its comeback in the second quarter on Cody Machen’s 35-yard touchdown pass to Austin Morphew.

MAGNET COVE 34, QUITMAN 12

MAGNET COVE- Adam Efurd rushed 13 times for 95 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Magnet Cove ( 5-1, 3-0 in 5-2A) past Quitman (3-3, 1-2 in 5-2A).

Efurd scored on a 5-yard run and a 1-yard run in the second quarter and added a 9-yard scoring run in the third quarter for Magnet Cove .

Austin Stringfellow also threw a 45-yard touchdown pass for the Panthers. 6-2A

ENGLAND 61, MARVELL 0

MARVELL - Senior running back Curtis Rogers was one of nine England players to score touchdowns in a victory over Marvell.

The Lions (5-1, 3-0 6-2A) led 48-0 after one quarter and 61-0 at halftime. England has won five consecutive games.

MINERAL SPRINGS 24, DIERKS 12

MINERAL SPRINGS - Kendrick Langston ran for a touchdown and threw for another to lead Mineral Springs (4-2, 2-1 7-2A) past Dierks (4-2, 1-2). Langston threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Shavon Velchoff and scored on a 44-yard run.

RISON 32, NORPHLET 6

RISON - Quarterback Nathan Wilson ran for three touchdowns to lead Rison over Norphlet for the Wildcats’ fourth consecutive victory. Rison (4-2, 4-0 8-2A) finished with 367 total yards, all rushing. Wilson ran 15 times for 70 yards and 3 touchdowns (1, 1 and 7 yards). Jokenzie Broughton ran 18 times for 121 yards and 1 touchdown.

HAMPTON 28, WOODLAWN 8

HAMPTON - Jaleal Heard caught two touchdown passes and had an interception to help lead Hampton over Woodlawn.

Heard totaled 250 receiving yards for the Bulldogs (1-5, 1-4 8-2A), who built a 21-0 halftime lead.

Woodlawn (0-5, 0-4) scored in the third quarter on Blake Erstine’s touchdown pass to JP Akin, who also added the two-point conversion.

Super Six

NO. 2 CARLISLE 40, BRINKLEY 0

BRINKLEY- Chris Hart passed for two touchdowns as Carlisle (5-0, 3-0) won a 6-2A Conference game over Brinkley (0-6, 0-3).

Hart passed 7 yards to Austin Reed for the game’s first touchdown and followed in the second quarter with a 30-yard scoring pass to Braten Reed.

Four other Carlisle players scored touchdowns.

Clinton Hamilton ran 40 yards for a touchdown. Deron Ricks scored on a 6-yard run and Tyler Fields had a 1-yard touchdown run, both in the second quarter. Jacob Cagle scored on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter.

NO. 3 GURDON 21, MURFEESBORO 10

GURDON - Sophomore running back Dewayne Marlow ran for two touchdowns to lead Gurdon over Murfreesboro.

The Go-Devils (6-0, 3-0 7-2A) led 13-2 at halftime in a game that was played in heavy rain.

Marlow’s touchdown runs covered 15 and 4 yards.

Senior Chris Penny ran 60 yards for Gurdon’s other touchdown.

NO. 4 EAST POINSETT CO. 20, MCCRORY 6

MCCRORY - Quarterback Aaron Scales had more than 100 yards passing and running to lead East Poinsett County (6-0, 3-0) to a 3-2A Conference victory over McCrory (3-2, 1-2).

Scales rushed for 101 yards on 12 carries, including a 49-yard touchdown run. He also passed for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns on 7 of 15 passing.

Tristan McDaniel caught a 12-yard touchdown pass with 10 seconds left in the first half. Trevor McDaniel caught the other for 24 yards with 3:34 to play in the game.

McCrory’s touchdown came on a 50-yard run by Logan Best with 2:44 remaining in the game.

NO. 5 BEARDEN 45, HERMITAGE 0

BEARDEN - Jarveaz Sledge passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead No. 5 Bearden (4-2, 4-1 8-2A) to a victory over Hermitage (1-5, 0-5) in a game that was called at halftime because of inclement weather.

Sledge ran for a 51-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Clint Parham and a 15-yard scoring pass to Damon Berry in the second quarter.

Parham returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown, Webster Brown scored on a 24-yard run and Jamond Young added a 14-yard scoring run for Bearden.

NO. 6 SALEM 45, CEDAR RIDGE 0

NEWARK - J.J. Gray rushed for 127 yards on 15 carries and scored one of his team’s seven touchdowns as Salem (6-0, 3-0) beat Cedar Ridge (0-6, 0-3) in 3-2A Conference play.

Dillon Turner had a touchdown run and threw a touchdown pass to Heath Goodman. David Tarpley scored on a recovered fumble.

All other scores came on runs by Nathan King, Blake Hensley and Augustus Freeman.
