Firestone Building Products Co. celebrated the completion of a $36 million expansion project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Prescott manufacturing plant Monday.
The plant in Prescott produces ethylene propylene diene monomer, a commercial roofing membrane, Firestone said in a news release.
These roofing systems are based on a synthetic rubber compound that withstands weathering in climates worldwide, the company said.
Gov. Mike Beebe, U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, Firestone senior management and Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver attended the event.
The project added 52,500 square feet to the facility, 100 new jobs, and updates and replacements of equipment in the plant that will increase energy-efficiency and waste reduction.
