— Police are searching for a man who shot a clerk at a Little Rock convenience store two times during a robbery attempt early Tuesday.

The assailant ran from the EZ Mart at 11724 Rainwood and was not arrested. Police describe him as a black man standing about 5-foot-6, weighing about 120 pounds and appearing to be in his late teens or early 20s.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the robber entered the store shortly after 1 a.m. and asked for an application. He then produced a handgun and shot the clerk in the face and then the back.

The would-be robber then tried to open the cash register but was unable to do so. Police say the man should be considered armed and dangerous.
