Conway man stabbed 12 times at Searcy VFW post

— Authorities in White County say a man is recovering after he was stabbed a dozen times after an apparent altercation at the Searcy Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

The Daily Citizen reported that the stabbing happened early Sunday at the VFW on Davis Drive.

White County Chief Deputy Jeremy Clark said 22-year-old Jonathan Kuni of Conway was stabbed 12 times with a switchblade-type knife.

Clark said a Jesse Chatman, 33, of Searcy turned himself in and told authorities he acted in self-defense. He has not yet been charged in the stabbing but remains jailed on an unrelated warrant.

Authorities said Kuni was taken to White County Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
