Jonesboro police release interviews in Chavis Carter case

The Jonesboro Police Department released additional files Thursday, including phone records and two audio interviews, used in its investigation of Chavis Carter's death.

Carter, who investigators said shot himself while detained in the back of a patrol car, reportedly called his girlfriend, Brandie Henson, minutes before his death. Police have released the audio of their phone interview with Henson, who confirmed Carter called her.

Police also released phone records of incoming text messages to Carter's phone, but outgoing messages did not appear to be included. An audio file of an interview with Carter's aunt, Shakita Owens, was also released.

Jonesboro police were not available for comment Thursday afternoon.
