Two arrested in White County in theft, corpse abuse

Two others sought for questioning

White County deputies have arrested two men, and seek two others for questioning, in the theft of a dead man's truck.

Deputies responded Saturday to a call of a suspicious vehicle on Safely Road near Judsonia, where they discovered a dead man lying in the street, the White County sheriff's office said in a news release.

Authorities said their investigation revealed the man, identified as Efren Beltran, had likely shot himself in the chest while in the parked vehicle, according to the release. Calls to the White County sheriff's office requesting Beltran's age and hometown were not immediately returned.

Deputies arrested Michael Hollingshead, 43, and Austin Flynn, 22, on accusations they removed Beltran's body from his truck then stole the vehicle, the release states. They are charged with felony theft of property and abuse of a corpse. Both men are being held in the White County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. Their court date is set for Nov. 6.

Detectives also seek two other men for questioning in the case, 38-year-old Steven Earl Raymond and 20-year-old Levi Garette Flynn, whom they think are in the Judsonia and Bald Knob areas.

Those with information on their whereabouts are asked to call (501) 279-6279.
