MAYFLOWER — Two women who live near an ExxonMobil pipeline that ruptured and spilled thousands of barrels of oil in central Arkansas are suing the company.
Attorneys for Kimla Greene and Kathryn Jane Roachell Chunn filed a lawsuit in federal court Friday — a week after ExxonMobil's Pegasus pipeline ruptured in Mayflower. Crews are still working to clean up oil that spewed onto lawns and roadways and almost fouled nearby Lake Conway.
The class action complaint filed Friday says the women are bringing the lawsuit on behalf of them and other people who live near the pipeline in Arkansas.
Their lawsuit says they're seeking money to make up for "a permanent diminishment in property value."
An ExxonMobil spokesman declined to comment.
