Lonoke County sheriff's office looks for second kidnapping suspect

The Lonoke County sheriff's office is asking for help in identifying a possible suspect in a kidnapping that occurred last Sunday near Carlisle.

Authorities arrested 52-year-old Steven King of Searcy Tuesday in connection with the kidnapping, and are working to locate the second suspect.

Police say the kidnappers, both men, went to a residence on North Walter Chapel Road around 6:30 p.m. on March 31, and kidnapped a 57-year-old man.

The men initially told the residents they were looking for a dog, but later pulled a gun, at which point a woman in the house and her friend fled, police said. The woman's boyfriend was taken at gunpoint by the men, put into his van and tied up, according to police.

The boyfriend was found later that night on Bostic Road in White County, police said.

King was arrested while out looking for the kidnapped man, police said. King faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault and terroristic threatening.

Video obtained by the Lonoke County sheriff's office shows a large, white male fueling the van, which was taken in the kidnapping. Authorities say the man, who possibly goes by "Bo," went inside the store to pay for the gas.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the Lonoke County sheriff's office at (501)676-3000 or (501) 676-3001.
