Two charged with aggravated robbery in Bryant

Two men are in custody Friday over accusations they robbed a woman at knifepoint in Bryant.

The robbery happened Wednesday, the Bryant Police Department said, when a woman said an unknown man approached her while she was in her car waiting for her mother.

The man put a knife to her throat and after a brief exchange took her handbag and cellular phone, Bryan police said in a statement. The man then fled, getting into the passenger side of a white sport utility vehicle.

Officers spotted a vehicle Thursday night that matched the description given by the victim, police said. After pulling the vehicle over, Kurtis Zerr, 22, and Sean Smith, 27, both of Little Rock, were questioned and admitted to the robbery, police said.

Both were charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property, and Smith was also charged with breaking and entering.

Zerr's bail was set at $50,000 and Smith's at $100,000.
