Southern Arkansas University will award more than 360 degrees to graduating students at its commencement ceremonies May 3, according to a news release from the school.

Several graduation ceremonies are planned, beginning at 2 p.m. with the nursing candidates' event in the Reynolds Center Grand Hall. Graduate Studies students will have their commencement at 4 p.m. in the same building.

At 7 p.m., more than 290 students from the university's four colleges — business, education, liberal and performing arts and technology — will receive undergraduate and associate degrees in the University Mall.

Honors Professor Steven Ochs will lead the undergraduate ceremony processional. Edgar Lee Owen, an SAU alum and chairman of the school's board of trustees, will deliver the commencement address.

The university's alumni association will host a reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the Reynolds Center Blue and Gold Cafeteria.
