Man steals car, drags owner across parking lot at park

Police are searching for a man who jumped in a car at a Little Rock park when the owner stepped out and who then drove off, dragging the victim across a parking lot.

It happened about 7 a.m. Tuesday at Kanis Park, 820 S. Rodney Parham Road.

The 67-year-old victim told authorities the assailant first asked for a ride before walking off when the victim said he didn't have time to give him one.

The victim later got out of his car to throw away some trash, at which point the other man jumped in the car and began to pull away, police said.

The victim tried to grab the man through the window and was reportedly dragged by the moving car through the parking lot. He suffered minor cuts on his right elbow and knee but declined medical attention.

The assailant is described as black man who stood about 5-foot-10 and weighed about 170 pounds.

The stolen car is a white, four-door Kia Forte with license plate number USADRCZ.

No arrests have been made.
