LITTLE ROCK — Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Darr's former rivals for a south Arkansas congressional seat are wishing him well after Darr dropped his bid amid questions about his campaign-finance reports.
Darr announced Thursday that he was dropping out of the race for Arkansas' 4th Congressional District. The decision came less than three weeks after Darr launched his bid for the seat held by Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton.
Hot Springs businessman Tommy Moll, who is seeking the GOP nomination for the seat, thanked Darr for his service to Arkansas and wished him well.
House Majority Leader Rep. Bruce Westerman, who's also running, saluted Darr for being a part of the 2010 election where Republicans made major gains.
Cotton earlier this month announced he was running against Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor in 2014.
