GERALDINE “JERRY” GUNTER DEANE, widow of William W. Deane (Lt. Col, USAF Retired), was born on July 28, 1924 in Eudora, Ark., and passed away on Nov. 27, 2013. Jerry was baptized in Dec. of 1942 and was grateful to God for her Catholic faith, without it she could have never been the military wife, mother and widow she was. She enjoyed being a military wife, travel, family gatherings, and entertaining with friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband; her parents, Clayton and Vera Gunter of Oak Grove, La.; sister, Nina Brown and nephew, Charles Clayton Brown.

She is survived by her five children, Theresa “Terry” Franks of Jacksonville, Ark., Donna Skulman-Loyd (W.B. Loyd) of Little Rock, Sharron Malloy (Mike) of Belleville, Ill., Paula Turner of Little Rock, andCraig Deane of North Little Rock; her grandchildren, Kristopher Malloy, Korey Malloy (Alicia Hamilton Malloy), Kimberly Malloy, Scott Franks and Kelly Tate, and two great-grandchildren, Willow and Autumn Franks.

She also leaves behind her longtime companion and caregiver, Willard Jenkins, who is considered family to her children.

The family wishes to add our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Fox Ridge and Arkansas Hospice.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church, 7000 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in North Little Rock with a Committal Ceremony following at 12 p.m. at Little Rock National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. both at Huson Funeral Home at 7700 Hwy 107, Sherwood, Ark. LEON ANTHONY DUELMER, 83, of Little Rock, Ark. entered intothe presence of the Lord on Nov. 28, 2013. Mr. Duelmer lived a long, healthy life. His strong love for the outdoors provoked his career as a hardworking, dedicated builder and carpenter.Regardless of his long work hours, a smile always shined through for those he cared for. Throughout his battle with illness, his strong will and determination never faltered. His strength will always be remembered by those who loved him. He was of Catholic faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Anton and Marie Duelmer; sisters, Henrietta Cathell and Irene Wright; and brother, Gilbert Duelmer.

Survivors include four daughters: Jennifer Gartrell (Stormy), Toni Duelmer, Samantha Duelmer, Amanda Colclasure (Dale); seven grandchildren: Blaine (Brooklyn), Bailey, Shelby Gartrell, and Madeline, Carissa, Jillian, and Gabriel Colclasure; four sisters: Lou Davis, Vi Bogoslavsky, Helen Garr, and Bobbie Faulk; brother, Louis Duelmer; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

GLORIA ANGELA GALVAN (Alcala/Provencio), 77 years old, ofNorth Little Rock, passed away on Nov. 29, 2013. She was born on Feb. 21, 1936, in San Fernando Valley, Calif., to the late Muscio and Theda (Calvillo) Alcala. Mrs. Galvan is preceded in death by herhusbands, Bernard C. Galvan and David Provencio; her son, David Galvan; her daughter, Debra Martin; three brothers, Steven Alcala, Ernest Alcala, and Theadore (Rithchie) Alcala; and one sister, Consulo (Connie) Madgeleno. Gloria found happiness in helping others. This gift went beyond her family to those in her community and within her church family. Mrs. Galvan is survived by five daughters, Donna Aguirre, Delores Granandos, Denise Andres, Desiree Hudspeth, and Dorene James; and one son, Donavan Galvan; her 13 loving grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. LAVADA MAE KLING GAMBILL, 85, of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013. Lavada was born on Feb. 21, 1928, the 6th of 11 children to the late Aberhart Phillip and Icey Roberta Spann Kling. Lavada was employed for 35 years with First Pasadena State Bank in Pasadena, Texas, retiring as an Assistant Vice President. She was an expert seamstress, passionate about her antiques and loved her family wholeheartedly. She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Gambill Rowland of Texas; a brother, Lewis Kling of Batesville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Ryan Reese Rowland and Rachel Renee Rowland of Texas, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. SEAN MICHAEL GURLEY, 61, of Maumelle lost his battle with cancer on Nov. 30, 2013, after one HELL of a fight. He was born Nov. 14, 1952, in Little Rock, Ark., to Pete and Jade Gurley. He is survivedby his children: Ben Gurley of Little Rock, Jessica Gurley Sweeney(Chris) of Vilonia, and Sean Gurley (Elizabeth) of Hobbs, N.M.; also three brothers, John Gurley (Joy) of Conway, Eric Gurley of Little Rock, and Linc Gurley (Laurie) of Maumelle; one granddaughter, Catherine Sweeney; and his beloved dog, Sprocket. Mike had a love for all things motorcycles and an endless knowledge about them. He also loved spending time at his cabin by the fireplace. Mike established and ran a successful business, Abby Road, where he poured out his heart and soul. He loved having his family and friends around him and enjoyed helping people. ESTELLA CRENSHAW HALL, 86, co-founder of K Hall and sons, Little Rock, entered into eternal sleep Wednesday, Nov. 27. EARL E. “MAC” McAFEE, 83, of North Little Rock passed away onMonday, Nov. 25, 2013. Mr. McAfee was born on Dec. 11, 1929, in McRae, Ark., to Vaudie and Zelma (Weir) McAfee. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hoyt McAfee;and two sisters, Syble Foster and Doris Marsh. Mr. McAfee is survived by his wife, Charley; one son, Eric Schmidt (Amber) of North Little Rock; two daughters, Karen McJunkin (Butch) of Little Rock and Jill McAfee (Michele Sprain) of Bentonville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Kristen Schmidt, Jeremy McJunkin, and Felicity Harris; two great-grandchildren, Dakota and Jaxon McJunkin; one sister, Dorthy Keathley of North Little Rock; one brother, Paul McAfee (Dixie); and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. McAfee proudly served as an Army Medic during the Korean War. After the Korean War, he served in the Army National Guard during which time he was called for duty in the Little Rock Central High School Integration Crisis. Mr. McAfee was a member of the American Legion Post 334 for over 30 years serving as Commander for three terms. He was also a member of the Society of Forty and Eight serving as the Chef de Chemin de Fer, Voiture 182. Mr. McAfee was an active member of VFW Post no. 11474. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks no. 1004 in North Little Rock for 25 years. Mr. McAfee retired from the Army National Guard after 26 years. He is also a retired administrator from John L. McClellan Veteran Health Care System with 35 years of service. JOHN RICHARD PROVENCE, 75, born Jan. 27, 1938, in Victoria, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013. He served six years in the Arkansas National Guard, 39th Aviation Unit. He spent 17 years as a band instrument repairman for Bean Music Co. Finally, after 33 years of service, Mr.Provence retired from Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as amachinist and Federal Inspector. Mr. Provence was an avid gardener with a wonderful greenhouse, in which he was growing a pineapple. He was also quite a handyman around his five acre “plantation” as he called it. As a busy type person, he started a lawnmower repair business (hobby) from his little shop, next to his home. He always enjoyed visiting with hisfriends and neighbors who brought their equipment in for repair. John is preceded in death by his father, I.E. Provence; mother, Florence Provence; sister, Donna Trammel; and brother-in-laws, Jimmy Trammel and Vern Vanlandingham.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Provence; sister, Phyllis Nutt (AD); sons, Tim (Debbie), Eddie (Tammy), Doyle (Donna), and Darrell Young; grandchildren, Lisa (John), Lynnsee, Delana (Joseph), Vanessa, Michael, Mandy (Matt), Samantha, and Candice; five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

MARSHA YULANDA REEVES, 60, of Sherwood born Jan. 12,1953, passed over Nov. 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by father, Frank Shupe; and sister, Patty Shupe.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 22years, Joseph Michael Reeves. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Shupe; sister, Denise (Tucker) Larsson; and brother, Ron Roop; as well as a niece and nephew.

She was a caring stepmother to our two daughters, Robin Reed and Christie Melton, and loving Nanna of five beautiful grandchildren. She was blessed with many good friends.

Marsha also loved “The Boys,” her dogs, Winston and Murphy.

DARRELL BLANE STORY, 59, of North Little Rock passed away onFriday, Nov. 29, 2013. Mr. Story served as a Captain in the U.S. Army before retiring from retail management. Preceded in death by his mother, Allene Joiner Story, he is survived byhis wife of 36 years, Teresa Story; one son, Adam Story and Christina Bartlett of Sherwood; one daughter, Cecily Story of North Little Rock; his father and step-mother, Hershal and Penny Story of Jacksonville; and one brother, Derrick Story of Jacksonville. Mr. Story was a kind man, a good husband and a loving father. He was also a good sport who loved to laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially Alex, Tyler, Tristen, Kaylee, Jacob, and his fur-baby Sophie Claire. Pediatrician Dr. JOHN WERNER TRIESCHMANN, 77, passed awayon Nov. 26, 2013. His devotion and care to generations of children, who came to the Children and Youth Clinic in Hot Springs made him a beloved caregiver in that community. He was bornon Sept. 22, 1936, in Little Rock, Ark. His parents were Martha Shipp Trieschmann Jarvis and John Werner Trieschmann Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann Grisham Trieschmann; his four sons, John Werner Trieschmann and wife, Martha C., Pastor Lamar Adams Trieschmann and wife Jennifer, Timothy Shipp Trieschmann and Joseph Taylor (Jay) Trieschmann; seven grandchildren, Margaret Rose (Maggie) and Anne Claire Trieschmann of Hot Springs, John Werner and Kenneth Irby (Kit) Trieschmann, Maximus Taylor (Max) and Catharine Alline (Allie) Trieschmann of Little Rock and Timothy Liam Trieschmann of Houston, Texas; his sister, Ann Spikes of Shreveport, La.; brother, James Shipp Trieschmann and wife, Donna of Wheaton, Ill., and Andrea Middleton Trieschmann and Dr. Lydia Lane of Little Rock, Ark.

John attended Little Rock Central High School and played football under the legendary coach Wilson Matthews. He then attended Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Medicine degree and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. His internship and residency rotation was at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, his specialty being Pediatrics. He also served as an intern in Pediatric Surgery at The Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He practiced Medicine at the Children and Youth Clinic in Hot Springs for 38 years. Upon retirement, he founded Stepping Stone Clinic, a practice in Behavioral Medicine.

He joined the Air Force Reserve to complete his service to his country and drove to the Jacksonville Air Base once a month for eight years.

John was a proud Eagle Scout and received the Order of the Arrow. He also created a program for scouting for the handicapped and served four years as a member on the Executive Board for the Ouachita Area Council of Boy Scouts of America.

Because he was a person of deep abiding faith, he was instrumental in organizing and working tirelessly in the following organizations:

Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Kanakuk Kamps and Kids Across America camp in Branson, Mo.; Mission work in Mexico, Haiti and Honduras; Gideons; The Sheriff’s Youth Ranch in Mulberry, Ark.; Firefall Ministries (Board Member); Charitable Christian Medical Clinics in Hot Springs and Little Rock, Ark.; Youth at First Step School; and Methodist Youth Fellowship. Another great passion of John’s life was growing roses. He began by raising them at his home, then, property at the Children and Youth Clinic. At one time, he counted 150 rose plants. He mentored young men who worked with him and shared his advice on how to become a Christian and strong leader. They called themselves the ROSE BOYS.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the physicians and nurses at Baptist Hospital, Parkway Health Center and The Hospice Center of Little Rock, also to physicians in Hot Springs in Little Rock who were not only friends but excellent caregivers and advisers.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, 155 Section Line Road, Hot Springs, Ark. A private graveside service is being arranged.

ARKADELPHIA - Mrs. Emilie Elder Prescott, age 77, a resident ofArkadelphia, Ark., formerly of Hope, Ark., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013. The sixth of seven children, she was born to the late William Thomas Elder Sr. and Eva Lorene(Whitney) Elder on Nov. 9, 1936, in Hope, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, William Leon Prescott, who died on April 16, 1989; three sisters, Mae Elder Huckabee, Elsie Elder Huckabee and Vena Elder Shores; two brothers, Neal Elder and William Thomas Elder Jr. and two half brothers, Earl Elder and Garvin Elder and a beloved nephew, Sandy Huckabee.

Mrs. Prescott is survived by her loving daughter, Kathy Lynn McClure and husband Ricky; two grandchildren, Kaylin Elyse DeVenney and William Blake DeVenney; one great-grandson, Isaiah Holden Craig, all of Arkadelphia, Ark.; three step-grandsons, Jesse McClure and wife Nicole and Chad McClure of Gurdon, Ark., Colton McClure and wife Christina; and two step great-grandchildren, Skylar, and Sophia McClure, all of Arkadelphia, Ark.; one sister, Louise Elder Casey of Grapevine, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The decedent was born again in Feb. of 1964, and a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church of Hope, Ark., until she moved to Arkadelphia in 2009 and joined Baring Cross Missionary Baptist Church. While at Garrett Memorial, she was a Sunday School teacher for many years, served on the church’s Building Committee, Secretary-Treasurer of the Cora May Auxiliary and worked in Vacation Bible School, Kidz Zone and Awana. While at Baring Cross, she co-taught a 2-3 year old Sunday School class, President of the Keenagers and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She attributed her salvation experience to the Sunday School ministry and her teachers.

Mrs. Prescott graduated from Hope High School in 1954 as co-valedictorian. She attended Texarkana Business College and received a Legal Secretarial degree (with high honors.) True to her training, she worked as a legal secretary, mainly for the Graves & Graves Law Firm in Hope, for 45 years, and also a short time at the Hempstead County Abstract and Title Company.

She loved grass roots politics and was a long-time member of the Hempstead County Republican Women. She was honored as Lioness of the year by the Hope Lioness Club on two occasions. Another love of her life was the Medical Park Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered 13 years. She served as President several years and also as State Secretary of the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Association and Southwest District AHAA Secretary and Treasurer. She joined the auxiliary at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia and currently served as Secretary. In 2005, she was named Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the year.

She loved to cook for family and others and demonstrated that love over and over to her family, her friends and her church. Three of the highlights of her life included a trip to Israel in 1984, the adoption by her and her husband, Leon, of their daughter, Kathy Lynn, in 1970, and her adoption by her Heavenly Father upon her belief in His Son, Jesus Christ.

CABOT - Larry Todd Mills, of Cabot, Ark., formerly of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday, at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, at the age of 41.

He was born Jan. 14, 1972 in Harrisburg, the son of Larry Udell Mills and Nina Olivia McCulley Mills. Although his life was brief, Todd lived a very full life. He graduated high school in Nurnberg, Germany in 1990 and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1992. While in the Air Force he was a K-9 SP and trained dogs in Panama for a year. While stationed at the Little Rock Air Force Base he was President Clinton’s personal escort whenever he traveled to Arkansas. Todd and his dog Henry worked the Atlanta Bombing during the 1996 Summer Olympics. Todd was an accomplished bass player and played in a band. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a degree in Industrial Writing. He loved working on computers and he was the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. He also loved fishing and golfing. Todd was the inventor of the Dorito-Loco Taco at Taco Bell and Frito Lay flew him to California where he toured the Dorito Plant. He married Ginger Hickey in 1998 and they have enjoyed 15 years together. He wasof the Methodist Faith.

Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Naomi McCulley and Udell Mills.

He is survived by his wife Ginger Mills of the home; two daughters, Tyler Mills of Dayton, Ohio and Lainey Mills of the home; his father, Larry Udell Mills and his wife Melonie of Harrisburg; his mother, Nina Mills of Cabot; two sisters, Beth Morgan and Nikki Marze and her husband Chuck, all of Cabot; and his grandmother, Phoebe Mills of Harrisburg; as well as several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Donnie Hudson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Bolivar Cemetery near Harrisburg, under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg.

CABOT - Mrs. Emma Strange, age 79, of Cabot, died Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 2013.

She was born Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1934, in Wingo, Ky., to Troy and Hattie Louise Hopkins. She was the oldest of six children. She attended Fulgham High School in Fulgham, Ky., graduating in 1953. She met her husband, Carl Strange, of 60 years in Fulton, Ky. and was a proud military wife of 21 years, supporting her husband and family. She enjoyed sewing, spending several years as a seamstress to an elite boutique in Tucson, Ariz. Emma was a wonderful cook and Thanksgiving was her favorite mealto prepare.

In addition to her husband Carl, Mrs. Strange is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Strange of Fort Worth, Texas and Kacee (Strange) Vojdani of Rogers; three grandchildren, Tara Carmical, Andrew Carmical and Lucas Raney and one great-grandchild, Jaelynn Carmical.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki (Strange) Carmical; her parents, Troy and Hattie Louise Hopkins; and brothers, Willis Hopkins and Junior Hopkins.

EAST CAMDEN - Sharon Lee King, 70, of East Camden, born June30, 1943, passed away on Nov. 15, 2013. She was a loving housewife and was a member of various veteran’s associations. She was a past alderman for several years in East Camden and served withvarious charities both local and statewide. Sharon loved her flower gardens, her “sun-room” and her many cactus plants. She always shared her plant growth with many, many friends and neighbors. She also really loved her little buddy Kava.

HAZEN - Phillip Lynn Abrams, 37, of Hazen, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 29, 2013. He was surrounded by his loved ones when hereceived his set of wings.

HEBER SPRINGS - James Lowry Connaway (Jim, Sonny) was born Oct. 1, 1934 in Forrest City, Ark. and died November 28, 2013. He was 79 years old. He was raised by his mother, Elizabeth Harris Connaway, and his grandfather, Albert Harris. His father, Marshall Bush Connaway, was confined to the Veterans Hospital in North Little Rock from 1939 until his death in 1955. His confinement was the result of his injury while serving in the U.S. Marines during World War I. Jim attended public schools in Forrest City and graduated from Forrest City High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and was captain of both the football and basketball teams. He made the All-State team in football and the all district team in basketball. He was inducted into the FCHS athletic hall of fame. Jim accepted a scholarship to play football for the University of Mississippi. His athletic career was cut short due to back problems causedby Osteomyelitis of the Spine.

He transferred back home to the University of Arkansas, there he served as head counselor in the freshman dorm, was inducted into Blue Key Honor fraternity and was elected President of the Student Body.

Jim’s working life was spent mainly in the Health and Life insurance field in Little Rock. In addition to receiving numerous sales and management awards he also served as director of agencies at First Pyramid Life and served on the original board of directors of First Variable Life Insurance Company. After retirement from the insurance industry he moved to Heber Springs. Never one to be idle, he and his wife, Carolyn, spent three years as teaching parents at the Presbyterian home in Monticello working with at-risk girls. They also spent one year working in the Methodist homes throughout the State.

Returning to their home in Heber Springs, Jim and Carolyn have served as elders at the First Presbyterian Church. They have been on the board of Haven House where Jim served as spokesperson. Jim was on the board of the Cleburne County Arts Council and acted in several plays at the Gem Theatre (Hollywood never called). He has also been quite active at the Waychoff Senior Center driving the center bus or delivering meals to shut-ins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and sister, (Betty Jean Daugherty).

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Carolyne Tanner, and her husband, Phil, of Winter Park, Fla.; daughter, Laura Naill, and her husband, John, of Little Rock; step-daughter, Teresa Lewis, and her husband, Brent, of Fort Smith; grandson, Philip Tanner, and Abby of Little Rock; grandson, Erik Tanner, of New York City; and step-granddaughter, Riley Lewis, of Fort Smith; plus nieces and a hostof friends.

PINE BLUFF - Norma Jean Lyles, age 90, of Pine Bluff diedWednesday, Nov. 27, 2013.

She was born June 25, 1923, at Miami, Okla., a daughter of the late Lewis L. Zimmerman and Ada McGuffin Zimmerman. She graduated from MiamiHigh School, and attended Oklahoma Baptist University for four years, where she met her husband, Carl Lyles.

Her primary role in life was serving her family. After her children were grown, “Miss Norma” served the families of Pine Bluff by working in the South Side Baptist and Immanuel Baptist Day Care for a number of years. Even years later, she enjoyed seeing her “children” and they enjoyed seeing her. She loved people and always had a smile on her face and a friendly word for everyone, and carried this on throughout her stay at White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Lyles was a longtime member of South Side Baptist Church, and the life of her church was always on her mind.

Also predeceasing her are her husband; three brothers; an infant sister; and a son-in-law, William “Squeeky” Thrower.

Hawkins II, Katie Riggins Elliott (David), Dr. Ryan Thrower (Jamie), and Rebekah Thrower; and great-grandchildren, Bradley,Drew, Carson and Morgan Reece, Caroline and Leah Thrower, and Lauren and Jake Elliott.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 2, 11 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Dr. J. R. DeBusk officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10 a.m.

YELLVILLE - Kathy Bolding Gibson, 80, a resident of Yellville,passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at her residence.

She was born May 10, 1933, in Cartney to the late Hubert and Clara (Wheat) Bolding. She married Alfred Earl Gibson 58years ago in Little Rock. Kathy worked in customer service at Clark’s in Texas and Ames in New York. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Al Gibson of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Phyllis Gibson of Yellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and David Denny of Duluth, Ga.; six grandchildren, Benjamin, Phoebe, Emily and Erin Gibson and Dustyn and Mason Denny; nine great-grandchildren; numerous cousins; and other relatives and friends.

BARTLETT, Tenn. - Nancy Jo Hester of Bartlett, Tenn., went home to be with her Savior onNov. 24, 2013. Nancy was born on July 15, 1945 in Covington, Ky. She lived most of her life in North Little Rock, Ark. She was the daughter of Hobart and Nancy Loyd.

Nancy was awonderful mother to daughters Jennifer Cockroft and her husband, Scott, of Bartlett, Tenn., and Jamie Moncrief and her husband, Michael, of Romance, Ark. She was “Grandma” to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

After graduating from Holmes High School, Nancy went on to take business courses and worked as a Legal Secretary for many years. She then changed careers and worked as a Freight Forwarder for an export company. She retired and spent her time volunteering for her church and the schools her grandchildren attended.

One of the things that Nancy was known for was her joyous spirit. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make people laugh. She loved to read, garden, and travel.

Nancy was predeceased by her mother; father; sister, Carolyn Landrum; and brother, Bob Cogswell. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Shoemaker; children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 2, from 11:30-1 with the funeral service at 1 at Conway Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. She will be buried at Cypress Valley Cemetery.

OVERTON, Texas - Services for Reverend Ronald Edward Glover, 65, Overton, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at Bible Baptist Church, Overton, with Reverends Rickey Glover, CecilMcLeod and Johnny Wright officiating. Burial will be in Overton City Cemetery, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

Ronnie was born Sept. 16, 1948, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to John Edward and Billie Bradley Glover. He died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, in Overton, Texas.

Reverend Glover was the pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Overton for over 30 years.

He was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff, Ark. He was also a graduate of the Baptist Christian College of Shreveport, La., and attended Arkansas A&M and the Hebron College of the Bible in Tyler. He had been the manager of Blake Furniture Stores for many years.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Dean Glover.

Reverend Glover is survived by his wife, Barbara Glover of Overton; son, John Bradley Glover of Texarkana, Ark.; daughters and sons-in-laws, Melinda Lee Luis and Jason of Kilgore, Angela Michelle Holleman and Lance of Arp, and Natalie Michelle Maxwell and Dustin of Arp; brother, Rickey Glover and wife, Cathy, of Clarendon, Ark.; grandchildren, Macy Kaylynn Wall-Luis, Jacy Olivia Luis, Emily Nicole Glover, Bradley Cole Glover, Rylan Edward Holleman, Richard Kashton Holleman, Aniston Sloan Elise Holleman, Remmington Kate Maxwell, Ronni Kensington Maxwell.

CODY, Wyo. - Gilbert Ray Hatcher, age 84, of Cody, Wyo .,passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, in Lewisville, Texas.

He was born Sept. 21, 1929, in Cabot, Ark., to Jasper Hatcher and Mamie Perkins Hatcher. Gilbert served in the U.S. ArmyAir Corps in the Berlin Airlift at the end of WW II. He was awarded the WW II Victory Medal, the Berlin Airlift Device and the Army of Occupation Medal.

Gilbert met the love of his life, Nora Sue McLeod, at SW Texas State Teachers College, where he earned a BS degree. They married in San Marcos on Aug. 25, 1951. In 1981, Gilbert won the National FDA Commendable Service Award, at the National Center for Toxicological Research in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Gilbert was a hero to many, including his family. But Gilbert, or “Uncle Sonny,” touched many more with unconditional love, teaching, and care. His actions taught them what God’s love really is.

Gilbert’s lessons were remembered by Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee in an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette article. Huckabee said Gilbert taught him how to fish. He said, “He took me out on the river and made me learn the basics. He’d say, ‘Here’s how you tie on that lure’, and he’d make me do it.”

He is survived by his wife, Nora Sue; daughter, Penny Hatcher Preston and her husband, Charles; and sisters, Ellen Dew and Mary Guthrie.
