BASKETBALL UCA-So. Miss. women’s game rescheduled

Central Arkansas’ women’s game against Southern Miss has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Monday at the Farris Center in Conway.

The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 7 but was postponed because of inclement weather.

UCA (5-3) has not played since losing 39-37 to Southern Illinois on Dec. 2. in Conway.

Harding women move up to 15th

The Harding women’s team moved up to No. 15 in the USA Today Division II Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday. It’s the highest the Lady Bisons have been ranked since joining the NCAA in 1997.

It’s the first time Harding (7-0, 2-0 Great American Conference) has been ranked in consecutive weeks. The Lady Bisons have appeared in the top 25 on just one other occasion, in 2008, when they were ranked No. 24 after beginning the season with 12 consecutive victories.

BOWLING ASU women top coaches poll

The Arkansas State women’s team sits atop the National Tenpin Coaches Association preseason poll released Tuesday.

The Red Wolves, who reached the top spot in the poll for the second time in school history, received 659 points and 10 first-place votes. Maryland-Eastern Shore is second with 11 first-place votes and 628 points, while Central Missouri, Fairleigh Dickinson and Stephen F. Austin round out the top five.
