HOT SPRINGS — A federal prosecutor says five men have been sentenced to federal prison after a drug trafficking and firearms investigation in the Hot Springs area.

U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge said Friday that an investigation was launched in March 2012 into emerging gang violence and drug-trafficking in the area. More than 80 controlled buys of crack cocaine and methamphetamine were conducted and several firearms were seized.

Eldridge identified those sentenced as: 35-year-old Carlos Brewer and 28-year-old Allen Fair, who each received seven years in prison for distributing crack cocaine; 33-year-old Quinton Kingsby, sentenced to three years and five months in prison for distributing crack cocaine; 37-year-old Richard Stapleton, sentenced to four years and three months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm; and 40-year-old Tommy Woodfork, sentenced to five years in prison for distributing crack cocaine.
