Memphis police are trying to solve a Wednesday morning slaying that occurred during a pawn-shop robbery.
Officers were called about 11:45 a.m. to the Lamar Avenue Pawn and Jewelry at 2399 Lamar Ave., where they found that the store owner, Virak Hean, 56, had been shot, the Memphis Police Department said in a statement Thursday. He was pronounced dead on the scene, authorities said.
Police discovered video that showed a black man entering the business and shooting Hean during a robbery, the department said. The shooter fled the scene driving a red, four-door vehicle, police said.
