A house in Little Rock was damaged in a fire Friday morning, displacing three residents.

Crews were called to the home at 17th and Brown streets about 7:45 a.m.

White-gray plumes of smoke were visible a short time later coming from the rear and attic of the home. Several firefighters, meanwhile, were on the roof cutting a hole to ventilate the interior.

Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Jason Weaver said one resident returned to the house Friday morning, noticed the smoke and alerted two people inside. The house is divided into a pair of apartments.

"Everybody made it out prior to our arrival" and no one was injured, Weaver said.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated. A damage estimate also wasn't available, but Weaver said it's significant enough to displace all the residents.

"They're not going to be able to stay there," he said.
