Jail escapee sought in Garland County

HOT SPRINGS - Sheriff’s investigators are seeking information on the whereabouts of an inmate at the Garland County jail who escaped about 10 p.m. Thursday after being treated at Mercy Hospital Hot Springs.

Lavelle Taylor, 41, was being walked back to a deputy’s vehicle when he fled, authorities said in a news release.

Police noted that Taylor was in jail on charges of theft and failure to appear, and there was no indication he is a danger to anyone. He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 250 pounds. Anyone who sees him should call 911 or the Garland County sheriff ’s office hotline at (870) 622-3674.
