2 die in accidents on Arkansas roads

Two crashes on state roads Thursday and Friday resulted in two deaths and one injury, according to police reports.

A man was ejected from his vehicle and killed Thursday night - his birthday - in a single-vehicle crash in Jacksonville, according to the Pulaski County sheriff’s office.

Thomas Patrick Forster Jr., who had just turned 55, was pronounced dead at the scene sometime after 7:52 p.m. Investigators believe that Forster, of the El Paso community in southwestern White County, was driving home on Batesville Pike when he lost control of his Ford Ranger while negotiating a curve near Noble Road. The vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned. Forster was pinned underneath.

Just before 8 a.m. on a cloudy and wet Friday, Harold J. Hollis, 66, of Hamburg was driving north on U.S. 425 in Ashley County when he crossed the centerline and hit a southbound car head-on.

Hollis was killed in the crash. Monticello resident Claire Chapman, 58, suffered injuries and was taken to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
