Art Exhibition
BATESVILLE — The Batesville Area Arts Council presents a group exhibition, Friends of the Batesville Area Arts Council, at the BAAC Gallery on Main, 246 E. Main St., through Jan. 17. The show features 20 artists who were invited to be part of the exhibition for their involvement with the organization and the support they have shown to BAAC over the years. The artwork is for sale and makes unique, one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.
Christmas Collection for Veterans
JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Museum of Military History, along with Mount Tabor Methodist Church in Cabot and Arkansas Flag and Banner in Little Rock, are collecting items for Arkansas veterans. Donations will go to the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (Fort Roots and McClellan Veterans Affairs hospitals.) Some items will go to patients in a community living center. The deadline to make donations is Feb. 1. Desired items include clothing (all sizes, but especially large and XL), personal-care items (no travel size), entertainment items and food. No used items or clothing will be accepted. Cabot Artist’s Works in Exhibit
LITTLE ROCK — Two pastel paintings by Anne Lyon of Cabot are on view until Feb. 22 in the Arkansas Pastel Society’s fifth National Juried Exhibition, Reflections in Pastel, at the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, 401 President Clinton Ave. in Little Rock. The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
Exercise Class
CABOT — A PEPPI (Peer Exercise Program Promotes Independence) exercise class will be taught at 10 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at the Cabot Senior Center, 600 N. Grant St. The class is geared for older adults.
Craft Night
JACKSONVILLE — The youth of Landmark Baptist Church will host a craft night from 6 to midnight the second Friday of each month at 2200 Marshall Road. Participants will spend time with fellow crafters painting, scrapbooking or doing other kinds of crafting. The cost is $5 per table or any donation amount. Davidsonville First Day Hike
POCAHONTAS — Davidsonville Historic State Park will offer its annual First Day Hike on Jan. 1. While hiking the trails will be the main activity, park officials will also offer geocaching. Note-Burning Ceremony

Basic Welding Skills Course
MELBOURNE — The Ozarka College Continuing Education Department will offer a basic welding skills course from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 21 through Feb. 25. Randall Lovelace is the instructor. The classroom lectures will be Jan. 21 and Feb. 4 and 18 in Room 112 of the Hall Building at Ozarka College-Melbourne, 218 College Drive.
