Police find man fatally shot in car

Little Rock detectives are investigating the killing of a man who was found shot in his car early Monday morning.

Police officers went to the area of West 15th and Abigail streets at 12:22 a.m. after a caller heard three gunshots in the area and then saw two men run off.

When officers reached the 4200 block of West 15th Street, they found a brown 1995 Cadillac DeVille parked outside 4218 W. 15th St. with “the lights on and [engine] running,” according to a police report.

According to the report, windows on the car’s driver side and rear-passenger side were both broken out, and inside the vehicle was Verico Ingram, who was “unconscious and slumped over in the driver’s seat.”

Officers noted there were “large amounts of blood” on Ingram, who “appeared to have been shot by a shotgun at close range … injuries to his upper chest and face area,” according to reports.

Ingram, 26, of 7515 Geyer Springs Road was pronounced dead at the scene, department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said.

According to the police report, an anonymous witness spotted two men running from the area, and they were last seen headed east on West 15th Street and then north on Bishop Warren Road.

Both of men were described as 5-foot-6, 120-pound black teenagers who wore dark pants and black, hooded sweatshirts.
