But a woman returned from a trip to Hot Springs a few hours later to find bullet holes in her home and vehicle, and she called police. Her German shepherd also was struck by the gunfire, police reported, and was euthanized later that day because of its injuries.

The second round of gunfire occurred about 11:37 a.m. Seven women told investigators they were standing outside when a white pickup drove by slowly on West 25th Street, and a man emerged from the truck bed and opened fire. Witnesses told police it sounded like 30 to 50 shots were fired, according to a police report.

One of the women, 37-year old Shanderka Dotson, was struck in the foot. She declined medical treatment and later gave police the projectile from her foot as evidence.

Five vehicles were damaged in the shooting, and a bullet struck a CATA bus. Its three occupants were not injured.

Witnesses connected Jamie Clayton of Little Rock to both incidents, police reported. Late Friday, police had detained three other people for questioning.

Pinkerton was arrested shortly after 9 a.m. at Sixth and Cumberland streets, a few blocks from the museum. He was charged with commercial burglary and criminal mischief and was released from Pulaski County jail late Friday.
