Authorities are looking for a pair of robbers who forced employees and customers at a Little Rock Wendy's into a cooler while they made off with cash.
It happened just after 9:30 p.m. Friday at the Wendy's at 11319 N. Rodney Parham Road.
According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the two men were armed with handguns when they entered the restaurant and demanded money.
Police say the two men forced employees and two customers into the cooler and then had them surrender their phones while the manager emptied the registers and the safe.
A witness followed the robbers as they left the premises in a blue 1980s Chevrolet Impala, but he lost track of the vehicle on Interstate 630.
The robbers were described as black men between 18 and 25 years old. One was about 6-foot-1, weighed 150 pounds, had a thin mustache and wore all red except for silver jeans. The other was said to be about 6- feet tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with Hello Kitty in stones on the back.
No arrests have been made.

If crime were accelerating at this rate in my little town, or in the city near here, the citizens would be storming the city council meeting, or board of directors meeting, demanding to know what the plan was for dealing with the situation.
In the city near here, the police department regularly hosts neighborhood meetings where the residents are urged to list their most important concerns in order of priority. This has led to changes in patrol and reduction of the types of crime that were annoying the various neighborhoods. Maybe Little Rock should give this a try.

What is happening in our town? Stopping this kind of thing (which is definitely increasing instead!) should be the city's top priority! Both government and citizenry. Is anyone working on a solution? This is not business as usual in LR. It is a major problem that threatens the future of our beautiful city. People can't be afraid to go out for a burger. What are we doing Stodola?

bclem, I don't think the home invasions will ever be a problem because the thugs know that many arkansans are armed and waiting.

Wendy's & Walgreens are patronized by black, white, Asian, Hispanic....and the employees usually represent all races too so it's everybody's problem. I really feel for the typically young employees having this fearful experience. It wouldn't bother me one bit to see someone pop out their concealed weapon and blow these robbers away!

These stories need a happy ending.. The one where someone steps up and puts an END to these thugs on the spot.. I just hope it's caught on tape and they loop it all over the web....

As far as police meetings, they would probably say to give up your belongings and head into the cooler....the city council is a joke, as is the mayor.

These neighborhood meetings with the police have made a difference in the city near me in several neighborhoods. If people just stay home saying they won't work, then they won't work.

We've had the police, including the chief, come to our property association meetings, we leave lights on @ night, lock our homes & cars, watch out for each other, we've still had break-ins, even when the homeowners are asleep upstairs. As far as businesses, that's between the business owner & the police.

The business end of a gun is the only thing these thugs will ever understand. Concealed carry all the way. Two to the chest, one to the head. But wait a minute. All we need is universal background checks and this would have never happened. These upstanding citizens would have been more than happy to complete a background check before acquring a handgun. How dare anyone think these pillars of the community would steal or buy their guns on the black market? Just pass a few more laws that place undue burdens on law-abiding citizens and all this crime will suddenly disappear. Yep, that's the liberal idiot way.

Someone knows who these thugs are as well as the other robbers around the city. Until someone in their community is willing to step forward to identify them, this will continue ... or until someone pumps some lead into them.
We need ALL of our citizens to be good citizens and turn in these thugs, so the city will be safer for everyone.
