A sharp-eyed observer has spotted laundry — tablecloths and napkins, primarily — going through the front door of Mamacita’s Bar & Grill, still “coming soon” to the former Satellite Cafe, 5923 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, but neither that restaurant nor its Conway counterpoint, 2850 Prince St., have listed telephone numbers, so we’re still in the dark on a target opening date for either location.
The Little Rock outlet of chain Bonefish Grill, 11525 Cantrell Road, is now serving Sunday brunch, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The menu includes Creme Brulee French Toast Grand Marnier (orange-zest battered, served with mascarpone whipped cream, fresh mint, strawberries and bacon), a Western Frittata with house-made Turkey Chorizo , Smoked Salmon on Toasted Bagel Thins, an Oscar omelet (with asparagus, crab, smoked mozzarella, basil and lemon butter), Imperial Sea Bass stuffed with shrimp, scallops and lump crab meat topped with lemon caper butter, and an “American Style” Kobe Burger. Jay Baxter alerts us that after only a few weeks he has pulled the plug on nighttime delivery at Jay’s Pizza in the River Market’s Oppenheimer Market Hall, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. His over-the-counter hours will remain 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday and his phone number remains (501) 374-5297.
And, of course, today being Valentine’s Day, many restaurants are offering special menus or dinner packages, and you can be sure that just about every sit-down restaurant in town will be packed. So, unless you’re planning to eat at McDonald’s or KFC, it would be a very wise idea (if it isn’t already too late) to make a reservation.
